How to share your GitHub profile link
For developers, the GitHub URL is the résumé. Here's the link format, where it belongs, and a Markdown trick that puts your whole online presence into a README in one paste.
Quick answer: Your GitHub profile link is github.com/yourusername. There's no share button to hunt for — the URL is just your username. Keep it saved in Profile Bud and it's one swipe from your clipboard.
Your GitHub URL — the simplest one you own
https://github.com/yourusername — that's it. Case-insensitive, no @, and renaming your account changes it (old links break, so choose a name you'll keep).
Where it earns its keep:
- Job applications — many forms have a dedicated GitHub field; recruiters click it before your résumé PDF.
- Profile READMEs elsewhere — dev.to, Stack Overflow, personal sites.
- Collaboration — “what's your GitHub?” is how open-source conversations start.
The Markdown trick: your whole presence, one paste
Developers don't share one link — they share a set: GitHub, a portfolio, LinkedIn, maybe Mastodon or Bluesky. Profile Bud exports your entire account list as Markdown, ready for any README:
- [GitHub](https://github.com/janedoe)- [LinkedIn](https://linkedin.com/in/janedoe)- [Portfolio](https://janedoe.dev)
- Add each account in Profile Bud (GitHub is a built-in platform; your site goes in as a custom website).
- Tap share and choose Markdown — or define a custom template with
[platform_name],[username], and[account_url]to match your README's style exactly. - Paste into your profile README, project docs, or blog. Done — and identical every time.
Prefer structured data? The same list exports as JSON, handy for feeding a personal-site config or a script.
Built for people with more handles than patience
